In the Spring of 2021, we bottled three vintages, a first for Heart Wood Cellars.
We bottled some 2018 “BARREL RESERVE” Wines that matured for over 30 months in barrel, some 2019 Vintage Wines that matured for over 18 months in barrel as well as a unique barrel-aged 2020 Bold Rosé that was very anxious to make its debut.
In May 2021, we released our 2019 Pinot Noir, the most delicate wine we have made. We are very proud of this special wine that was aged in American oak and neutral French oak barrels. As it continues to evolve and smooth in bottle, we are anxious for the next reveal in the very next bottle we open!
In August 2021, we released our 2019 Heart, our fourth version of the best possible blend we can make from each vintage’s varietals. In keeping with a business plan goal of having some awesome wine to enjoy in our retirement, we just put a few more cases away into our personal wine library.
In November 2021, our third and final release of new wines in 2021, included our 2019 Love and the highly anticipated 2019 Tannat. Both of these wines are the Bold, Complex, and elegant style of red wines that we so enjoy. Based on our personal experience, we love how they are right now, and will love them even more in one year, two years, three years, four years , five years and beyond. You may want to stock up now, our wines typically sell out in much less than a year after release. Sometimes they sell out the day they are released.

Elegant, delightful, and Complex. This wine has been pampered.
Matured to both Enya and Hawaiian music she is unpretentious and sophisticated elegance.
Served at about 65°F, her bouquet will reveal deep roses as she warms slightly. She likes to play in larger bowled wine glasses with plenty of room to twirl and dance between sips as she flirts with you.
This is one of the hardest wines to release as we have grown so close.
We hope you love her as we do.
These Pinot Noir grapes were grown at Rolling View Vineyard, Willcox AVA.

Our fourth Heart is a unique blend of three incredible red wines from our 2019 Vintage. Many rounds of blending trials over many nights, with copious notes is our process of creating the best possible blend from the wines we made during each vintage. It IS fun and we take the process very seriously, so we have to stop after about four different blends per night, and, spread out the nights!
The Petite Sirah grapes were grown at Rolling View Vineyards in Willcox AVA; the Tannat grapes were from the D.A.Ranch, and the Carignan grapes from the Yavapai College Vineyard, both in the Verde Valley AVA of Northern Arizona.
2019 Heart was aged for over twenty months in American Oak and neutral French Oak barrels.

Love is a little different each year. Always a blend of Syrah and Petite Sirah, sometimes one takes the lead, sometimes the other. They need each other and finding just the right amount of each takes time and changes every year. Love gently ages into that silky elegance that while always Bold and Complex is a little mysterious, just like love should be. “Everybody needs a little love.”

Under the 2016 Vintage tab, see “The story of Love” in the 2016 Love description and to learn how that wine was officially given its earned name: “Love.”
2019 Love was aged for over twenty months in neutral American and French Oak barrels.

Our 2016 Vintage Tannat was awarded the Best Tannat in Arizona 2018 Arizona Grand Wine Competition, the largest wine competition in Arizona. It was only available to ‘Ohana Wine Club Members and was our first wine to sell out.
This 100% Verde Valley Tannat is a blend of Yavapai College Vineyard and D.A.Ranch Tannat grapes that matured for over twenty months in neutral French Oak barrels. This was our fourth year of working with Tannat from three different vineyards and we were ready for Tannat’s tendency for an aggressive fermentation. We hope you love this Tannat as much as we do, we started out smitten and fall deeper in love with every new bottle we open.
Our 2016 Tannat is now five years old and is an exceptional wine, we shared some from our private library with our ‘Ohana at our recent fifth anniversary celebration since our first vintage in 2016. We keep putting away a few more cases of this 2019 Tannat, so we really don’t know how many cases we will make available for sale. We do not want to run out of this one in our retirement!
